My icons are not traditional in a sense that I carve them on a clay slab as a base-relief, but also and essentially because they follow first the heart’s inspiration before the established rules in this type of art. Through forms and colours, I look for the icon’s spirituality which ” reveals us men and women showing human beings transcendental beauty, and moving in a universe that radiates peace and serenity “.
The icon reconnects man to the divine, to the invisible, to what they really are; that’s why they have the impression to recognize it.
Carved on clay the icons are then fired at 1000 degrees C, and most of them are painted with acrylics, some are glazed, fired again and only the faces are painted with acrylics.

Mes icônes ne sont pas écrites dans les règles traditionnelles puisqu’elles sont d’une part gravées dans une plaque d’argile et d’autre part elles suivent d’abord l’inspiration du cœur plutôt que les règles établies pour ce type d’art. A travers les formes et les couleurs, je cherche la spiritualité de l’icone qui ” nous révèle des hommes et des femmes montrant la beauté transcendantale des êtres humains, et évoluant dans un univers qui irradie paix et sérénité “.
L’icone reconnecte l’homme avec le divin, avec l’invisible, avec qui ils sont vraiment; c’est pour cela qu’ils ont l’impression de la reconaitre.
Sculptées dans l’argile, les icônes sont ensuite cuites à 1000 degrés Celsius, puis certaines sont peintes à l’acrylique, certaines sont émaillées et recuites.
